The shelters are overflowing with litters of kittens right now and we need more foster homes. It's both fun and rewarding! Hopalong covers all medical costs, food, litter and supplies. All you need to do is provide a secure place in your home along with the love and some time to socialize these wee ones. Carmel is a love bug. He is very shy at first and can get a little spooked if someone new is in the room, but he quickly warms up and loves to cuddle and play. He was also the little brother to a miniature Dachshund named Darby in his previous home. They played together and even slept in the same bed. Carmel has been an indoor cat for the last 12 months, but was raised as a kitten in an indoor/outdoor situation and he is comfortable in both environments. All in all, he is a perfect cat who would like to be your 'only' cat.

Personality: Sophie is a beautiful cat with a calm disposition, but loves to talk. She has a very "authoritative" meow which she uses when she wants to be petted or fed. She loves to have her head scratched, and full body pets. Sophie
ignores scratching posts, but enthusiastically uses the cardboard scratchers that sit on the floor. She is good at entertaining herself. She is sweet and loving to her foster mother and gets along fine with the other cats living in her foster home...athough she does not appear to like dogs. We have not seen Sophie interact with children.

Personality: Kaylee was a teenaged mom who was abandoned outdoors and lived outside for several months with her eight kittens before Hopalong rescued her. As a result of this early experience, she can be a bit skittish at times, especially with sudden moves or noises. Kaylee is very sweet. She loves to be petted, especially on the back and under the chin. She’s not really a lap cat. She’d be happy to sleep and lounge close to her humans, but not ‘on’ her humans. Kaylee is also very playful and loves trying out new toys. She’s a curious girl who loves to check out new things in her surroundings. She would probably be fine in a home with cats and maybe even gentle dogs. A quiet environment would be better for her. Kaylee is a very nice and well-mannered cat that needs to feel secure in her forever home.

Carolina is a special needs kitty. She came to us as a feral kitten and never really settled into being a loving family pet. It takes her awhile to adjust to new situations and she often hides during her adjustment period. Once she is adjusted, you will see her more often, but she will never be a friendly lap kitty. She would do best as a companion to your current pets, rather than to the people of the house. Because she is shy, Carolina will need to be in an adult only household. She does well with both dogs and cats and will need at least one animal companion on her new home.
