Mix/Breed: Pit Bull

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 1.5 years

Personality:  If you love and know the breed, Percy is an absolutely perfect pit bull. He is very energetic and silly. He thinks that he is a lap dog. He has some manners, but it’s really just too hard for him to maintain his wiggliness to get an accurate read!   He is constantly smiling. He would make a great activity partner and would be fine with older/stronger children. He needs a home with someone who will work with his energy and training classes are a MUST for Percy.  He gets along well with other dogs, and is fine with kids.  Percy is a real gem among the breed!

Name: Cali

Mix/Breed: Aussie/Retriever mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 3 years, 30 lbs.

Personality:  Cali appears to be very sweet and calm dog.  She's currently still in the shelter and once she's in a foster home, we'll get a better sense of her personality.  She loves other dogs, but probably wouldn't be suitable for a household with young high energy children.   More information to come. 

Name: Shakespeare

Mix/Breed:  Chihuahua mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 4 years, 7 lbs.

Personality:  Whether he's chasing his tail or wrestling with a rope toy, this little guy is sure to make you laugh. Shakespeare is loving and playful, sensitive and affectionate. He's house-trained and crate-trained, and well-behaved around the house. He enjoys playing with other small dogs or snuggling with you on the couch. His whole body wags with delight when he greets you in the morning. He is a small fellow, though, so would do best in a home without young children (or cats).

Name:  Tilly

Mix/Breed: Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 5-7 years, 12 lbs

Personality:  Tilly's a lovable, well mannered dog with a great personality. Tilly's so friendly with everyone she meets on walks, which she loves. She would be great with kids but not toddlers, no children under 6 years old because of her size.  Tilly is completely housebroken and crate trained at night,  but is also content to sleep in her human's bed.   Tilly's fine with other dogs and currently has several canine pals in her foster home.  She has not been cat tested. If you are looking for a well mannered, sweet lovable small dog, Tilly couldn't be a better match.

Name: Sunny 

Mix/Breed: Lab mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 6 years, 75 lbs

Personality: Sunny is a very special girl with an incredible personality. Her bright smile shows how much this girl wants to please people. Unfortunately, this sweet girl has signs of Lupus, an autoimmune disorder that can cause skin flare ups, typically around the nose and feet. This is easy to manage with sunscreen (yes, they make sunscreen for dogs!!). Her previous owner left her out in the sun, so she has a little scarring on her nose, but she does not seem to notice this small blemish on her physical appearance. This great dog gets along well with people, kids, and other dogs! Give Sunny a chance to light up your life- you will be glad you did!!

Name: Bearaby

Mix/Breed: Chow/Shepherd mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 6 years, 60 lbs

Personality:  Bear is a one of a kind dog.  He aims to please and adapts well to any environment.  He loves being with people, whether that's having a relaxing day at home or getting out and about for a hike, run, or social get-together. He's done well in every situation his foster parent's have put him in.  He's great in the car, great with other dogs, loves people and kids, does well travelling, and is comfortable in new situations. Bear deserves a family that will include him in their activities and return the love he gives to them. Because Bear thinks cats are toys, he should not be in a home with cats.  He would also do better in an adult only household.

 

 

Name: Ariki (Maori name for Chief)

Mix/Breed: Shepherd/Boxer mix pup

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 13 weeks, 60 lbs. grown

Personality: Ariki is adoreable and playful.  Like his brothers, he's a rough and tumble guy who will need a family that has the time and desire to exercise him daily. Ariki will do great with kids and other dogs!

Name: Arama  (Maori name for Adam)

Mix/Breed: Lab mix pup

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 13 weeks, 60 lbs grown

Personality: Arama is a gentle-natured boy, but needs a dog experienced home.   Like his brothers, he's a rough and tumble pup who will need a family that has the time and desire to exercise him daily. Great with kids, Arama would be a great family dog.

Name: Zeus

Mix/Breed: Shepherd mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered,  3 years, 80-90 lbs

Personality:  This big boy is a typical Shepherd who is both rambunctious and fun. He is good with other dogs – but we're not sure about cats yet. Because of his fun loving nature and his size, he would be better in a home with older children who have some experience around large dogs. A great family dog, hiking companion and all around best friend, we recommend that Zeus finds a home with people who understand large breeds and particularly Shepherd personalities.  Zeus is one handsome guy!

Name: Mason

Mix/Breed: Spaniel mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 9 years,   25 lbs.

Personality:  Mason is a loveable guy in the later part of his mid-life, but still has so much love to give. He is affectionate and well-mannered. He has a touch of arthritis in some of his joints and so he is learning to stay off the furniture. He gets along well with other dogs. Mason needs a quiet home without the hustle and bustle of small children. He would make a great companion for a retired family looking for a quiet new friend.

 

Name: Petite Belle

Mix/Breed: Doxie/Chihuahua/Terrier/Corgi mix

Sex/Age/Weight:  Female/spayed, 16 weeks, 12 lbs. grown

Personality: Petite Belle, as her name suggets, is the smallest pup in her litter. She is a bit more delicate than her siblings and needs a home without small children as she will be much smaller than her brothers and sisters. 

Name: Sally

Mix/Breed: All American (little bit of everything!)

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 13 weeks, 25 lbs. grown

Personality:  Sally is the flirtiest little social butterfly. She loves everyone and wants to cuddle and give kisses all day long. Moderately active, she likes running around and making new friends. Being a puppy, her favorite thing to do is to chew on your hands in an attempt to show you how much she loves you. She has a very lab-like smiley face and big clumsy paws. She LOVES people and other dogs and is eagerly awaiting a new home to call her own.  And yes...we caught her mid-yawn with the camera!!

Name: Teetsie

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 14 weeks, 7 lbs. grown

Personality: Teetsie arrived at her foster home, happy and full of gusto.  She's fun and playful, almost completely housebroken and has nice house manners.  And Teetsie has a strong personality as many small dogs do, so needs a experienced person who can show her who's really the boss and set the rules.  With the right training, Teetsie will be a wonderful companion. She would be best in a home with kids over 12 as she can be a little mouthy.  Teetsie is a beautiful puppy with great markings.

Name: Baxter

Mix/Breed: TreeWalker Hound

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 6 years, 55 lbs

Personality:  Baxter is a very sweet adult dog. He is a very happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys being with people and other dogs immensely.  He's fine with kids, uses a doggie door, has great house manners and is just happy to be part of his foster family. Although Baxter is a bit more hesitant with men and therefore would thrive in either a women-only household or with a family that can take the time to make him feel more secure and trusting of men.  Baxter loves attention and he'll greet everyone he meets hoping for a pat on the head.  The great thing about Baxter is that he's young enough to be lively and interested in the world around him but old enough to know his manners and be an easy to care for dog.

Name: Darla

Mix/Breed: Cattledog/Corgi mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 6 months, 30 lbs grown

Personality:  Darla is a sweet and high energy older puppy.  She's great with other dogs.  She has a long body and short legs like a Corgi...which makes her simply adorable!  And from the photo, you can see what a naturally  happy dog she is.  Darla is settling in nicely in her foster home and learning a lot about home life.  More information to come.

Name:  Durango

Mix/Breed: Catahoula mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 1 year, 65 lbs

Personality:  Durango is smart and easily trainable for someone who knows they can provide enough exercise for his high energy personality. He is friendly and very bright.  Durango is learning quickly in his foster home and knows some of the basic commands and is almost 100% house broken.  He plays really well with other dogs, and wants to play until he's exhausted.  Durango would thrive in an active household or to have another canine pal for built-in play dates.  And given his energetic nature, he would be better in home without small kids.  He's also a little too curious about cats right now.  Durango loves to go on car rides and does walk well on a leash. 

Name: Pearl

Mix/Breed: Yellow Lab mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 3 yrs, 50 lbs grown

Personality:  Pearl was rescued from a ranch in Nevada where 150 dogs had been abandoned by a hoarder.  The hoarder died leaving the dogs to fend for themselves. National rescue groups moved in; Hopalong was contacted and took part to help.  Pearl is a very special dog to have survived the extreme conditions at the ranch.  Consequently it was learned that she is deaf and would only walk with a harness as she was terrified of having anything around her neck.  She also has a heart murmur. After spending some time with her very patient foster, however, Pearl now loves going for her long walks and willingly steps into her harness. She is no longer fearful of people touching her neck area! She is still occasionally cautious of new people on the trail, but this brave girl does not back down, rather she stands to face her fears as they pass. Once she realizes her victory, she leaps along the trail exuberantly to continue her outing  She's great with other dogs and loves cats. Pearl is sweet and loving and deserves a very special forever home.Pearl definitely needs to be placed in a home with other dogs- the more the merrier for Pearl! She still has a bit of a fear of men, and whereas she will get used to them eventually, the fear of strange men may never fully go away. She also must be in a home without children, as sudden movements still scare her, and she wants to have the nice peaceful life she deserves.  Due to Pearl's significant medical needs when she arrived, Hopalong is also accepting donations for the medical attention she has been given.  Pearl deserves to live after overcoming so many odds.

Name: Pawl
Mix/Breed: Black Labrador Retriever
Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered; 6 years; 60 lbs.

He loves his long hikes and is a laid back guy that has no problem relaxing all day at his foster's side. Pawl is sweet and loving and deserves a very special forever home.

Name: Eli

Personality: Eli is a sweet little guy who is looking for his forever home. He was a little shy at first but warming up quickly in his new foster home.  He loves playing with his new canine play mate and also has good manners around cats.  Eli is both housebroken and crate trained. Given his size and personality, Eli would do best is a calmer environment.  He's a real love when he gets to know you!

Personality: Meet Max! Max is one of those dogs who just wants to be your best friend. Max has a sparkling personality, and this personality tends to get him a few extra treats, as his husky physique will show. However, he would like to kick the eating habit and find himself a home with a nice, healthy lifestyle, filled with vegetables, walks, and some other dogs or kids to help him reach his weight loss goals. He would be a great companion for someone looking for a workout partner to motivate each other! Max has that great goofy-lab personality- he will keep a smile on anyone's face!

Name: Herbie

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 2 years, 11 pounds

Personality: Herbie was brought to the shelter by a kind person who witnessed him being hit by a car. Miraculously, the only injury he sustained was a small scratch on his back leg! He is a little traumatized after his vehicular encounter and therefore takes a few minutes to fully trust new people, but once you put your hand on him, he melts and is all yours! This sweet boy seeks out the people he knows and recognizes friendly faces after only meeting them once. Because of his size, Herbie should not be with children under 10 years of age. Name: Dusty

Personality: Dusty is a very sweet boy, although a bit shy.  He needs someone that's willing to help him build his trust, provide some basic training, and give him lots of love and good socialization.  He will be a great walking companion and gets along really well with other dogs.   Dusty has those handsome retriever looks in a smaller package!
