Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 8 weeks, 60 lbs grown

Personality:  Fruitvale is extremely outgoing, and full of energy.  She loves to play with other dogs.  She will need an active family with large breed dog experience who has the time to invest in obedience training.  Just rescued, more info to follow.

Mix/Breed: Basset/Lab mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 9 months, 25 lbs grown

Personality:  This guy is so happy to be out of the shelter!  He's what we call a 'bassador' with short legs and a lab body and face.   Julius is a shelter favorite among volunteers, very happy and social boy.  Loves to play with other dogs.Very bubbly personality.  He appears to be good with kids and fine with cats (he shows interest but doesn't chase).

Mix/Breed: American Foxhound

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 8 months, 55 lbs

Personality: Dosier just arrived in the Bay Area from the central valley shelter where he ended up when his family lost their home in the recession. Dosier looks forward to visiting many of the dog parks we have in this area with his new human family. He is housebroken, crate trained and good with all sizes of dogs. When we visited some kitties, he was un-impressed by their kitty demeanors.. He is well behaved for his age, but would need more puppy  training and rides well in the car. Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 5 months, 15 lbs grown

Personality:  Auggie is a a real clown. He loves to jump, play, give kisses and play tug o'war. He will steal the
heart of every person he meets.  All black silky fur with a white patch on chest and front paws. You might have trouble telling front from back until he jumps on you for some lap time. Auggie will adjust to a lively family as long as he is included in what's going on around him and gets a little gentle training. Puppy school would give him a place to use his mind and energy.

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 3.5 years, 15 lbs

Personality:  Bella is sweet and gentle. She is just coming out of her shell and showing the smart, funny, loving, personalty that was hers all along. However she thinks a cat is for chasing (unless the cat won't run).  Her intent is good fun, not to harm but tell that to the cat!! If you want a dog that will give you total devotion and companionship
you can't get better than Bella. But she might do better with a quieter household with lots of time to give her. She has been moved around enough and has earned a loving forever home.

Personality: Fancy Feet is a very friendly, social, and outgoing young lady.  She is working on potty and crate training in her foster home.  Fancy Feet will need an active family and training due to her breed.  She's fine with kids, cats and dogs.

Personality: Dalia is a sweet and happy girl who wags her tail with excitement and has a wonderful disposition.  She loves to cuddle and is up for any and all adventures.  Dalia is fine with older kids and other dogs.

Personality: Stitch is a very happy go lucky dog. He's still an older puppy, so is also very playful.  He's also affectionate, and will gladly jump in any human lap that's available!  He's good with dogs, older kids and he's fine with cats. This guy will want to be your center of attention.  He's a total love.

Personality: Indiana is a friendly, happy and affectionate young dog.  He's fine with other dogs and good with kids.  He would probably do well with cats too.  Just rescued; more information to come.

Personality:  Sailor is a playful pup and given his breed type, will most likely be a high energy dog. He walks well on leash and sleeps through the night.  He's smart and making good progress with his potty training in his foster home.  Best in a home with kids 14 and older.  The ideal person to adopt Sailor would have JRT experience.

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/spayed, 7 years, 60 lbs

Personality:  Meet Sausage, an adorable, friendly, and loving Pit Bull.  Sausage came to Hopalong from her original home, not a shelter.  She has lived in one home since she was a pup, so she's very socialized and has been a wonderful family dog that grew up with kids and small dogs.  Even at the age of 7 years, she is full of happy energy. In fact a daily dose of exercise will keep her smiling, so an active companion or family is most desirable.  A smart girl, Sausage knows basic commands, such as sit, down, stay, and shake.  She is also house trained and has good manners inside the home.  While Sausage can be great with other dogs, it's only small male dogs, those who are smaller than her, that she can live and ideally play with.  This girl has lots of love and kisses to give and she's a great snuggler as well!  A dog experienced home (preferably pit experience) is preferred.

Personality: Odie is not only handsome, he is well-mannered and obedient.  We know because we sent him to obedience school where he excelled in many areas.  Odie is an active guy who would love another playful canine companion or a human companion that can keep up with his energy level.  Besides jogging, he also loves to swim and is really into boating!  He's fine wtih older kids and even good with the right cat.  Odie deserves the home of a lifetime and you'll get a faithful and loving companion in return.

Mix/Breed: TreeWalker Hound

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/neutered, 6 years, 55 lbs

Personality:  Baxter is a very sweet adult dog. He is a very happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys being with people and other dogs immensely.  He uses a doggie door, has great house manners and is just happy to be part of his foster family. Although Baxter is a bit more hesitant with men and therefore would thrive in either a women-only household or with a family that can take the time to make him feel more secure and trusting of men.  He also needs a home without children.  Baxter loves attention and he'll greet everyone he meets hoping for a pat on the head.  The great thing about Baxter is that he's young enough to be lively and interested in the world around him but old enough to know his manners and be an easy to care for dog.
