Mobile Adoption

Welcome

Each year, thousands of animals are abandoned and must be euthanized throughout Northern California due to lack of shelter space from pet overpopulation. Since 1993, Hopalong Animal Rescue has rescued, fostered, spayed/neutered, and placed thousands of companion animals.

Together with Second Chance Rescue, our Marin-based office, we have helped find homes for over 16,000 animals. Each story is different and many are heart-breaking, but in every case there is a common thread: an animal that deserves a second chance at life and a permanent, loving home.

Shakespeare

Chihuahua mix, male/neutered, 4 years, 7 lbs.
Whether he's chasing his tail or wrestling with a rope toy, this little guy is sure to make you laugh. Shakespeare is loving and playful, sensitive and affectionate. He's house-trained and crate-trained, and well-behaved around the house. He enjoys playing with other small dogs or snuggling with you on the couch. His whole body wags with delight when he greets you in the morning. He is a small fellow, though, so would do best in a home without young children (or cats).

MAX

Domestic Short Hair
Male/neutered, 15 years

MAX and his housemate Maggie recently lost their loving mom and are still grieving her passing . They are very loving cats who love to be brushed as they quietly sit on your lap. They are used to a quiet home and will need to be placed in homes that will allow them not only the time they need to work through the loss they are feeling, but also to continue living the quiet, low stress lifestyle they are used to. They will need some extra love to get them comfortable in their new homes. Financial assistance is available for her future medical needs.
